cotyledonAppearance: About 5'3", round-faced, with big blue eyes. Her hair is curly, a natural dark brown, and her figure is a cushiony hourglass, somewhere around an American size 16. She tend to wear pastels and bright colors, floral prints and kitschy cute things that may or may not match and she doesn't give a shit if they don't. Her makeup is usually a vintage look, and impeccable, because she has a good tutor (see below), which gives her face a porcelain-doll kind of look.
* Totally not a vampire. (Just kidding. She absolutely is a vampire.)
* Loves to bake, mostly sweets like cookies and muffins. She can't eat these, so she's always giving baked goods away.
* Tremendously into gardening and horticulture, working on a botany degree specializing in night-blooming flowers
* Works ostensibly as a bike courier in New York, but really the bulk of her income comes from work she does for Emilio Saentz, a much older vampire with an organized crime family of some distinction
* Her roommate's name is Giancarlo Castlevecchi, and he is a dancer trying to make it on Broadway. He somehow has no idea she's a vampire, but they're pals and he helps her with her makeup.
* Owns sunflower EVERYTHING.
* Due to her youth, determination, and high-powered prescription sunblock, she is able to be out in daylight to a small degree, in the hours before 9-10 AM and after 5-6 PM. She ends up running errands for older vampire because of this, and a lot of them find her a useful novelty. During these hours she's very well covered and carries a parasol.
* After she was first turned, she went through a big-time Goth phase. She still has some of the clothing but doesn't wear it that often. The name 'Absinthe' (not her birth name but now her legal name) is actually a holdover from this period in her life. She tried to go by it for about a decade, then gave up and shortened it to Abby.
* There are a bunch of other supernatural beings in her world, aside from vampires, including various types of lycanthropes (wolves, big cats, rats), trolls and goblins, fae of various stripes, etc., and it is rumored there's a live, sleeping dragon in the sub-sub-basement deep beneath the city.
* Abby is greysexual (and heteroromantic). She rarely feels sexual attraction or desire, but she's not repulsed, either, hence her willingness to let the occasional person get off on having her feed on them. This is a rare indulgence for her, though. She really prefers animal blood or blood bank theft. Shipping with her is a little unlikely, because she is not in a good dating headspace and knows it, but she will make friends with literally anyone.

Abby is basically a sweet girl, but she does have a comparatively cavalier attitude toward crime and death. She's not into hunting or killing but she knows enough vampires and other creatures that do that it doesn't shock or horrify her. Her New York is split up into well-controlled supernatural territories (which normal humans are not aware of, of course) to allow for hunting in prescripted times, spots, and in numbers small enough to keep ordinary humans from noticing. She knows where to go and where not to go, and where to buy blood from dealers or shady blood banks. And also what clubs to trawl for vampire fetishists who will let her feed from them willingly.
She did not ask to be turned. Essentially, she went on a date with a vampire who seemed roughly her age, very much the 'nice guy' type, who she felt a little sorry for. He developed a fast and very unhealthy obsession with her, which led to her being stalked and bitten. She doesn't enjoy talking about it, but it may crop up in conversation so if any of that is a trigger please let me know!
